Jenny Lumet is an American actress and screenwriter. She is the daughter of filmmaker Sidney Lumet and journalist Gail Lumet Buckley, and the granddaughter of singer, dancer, actress, and civil rights activist Lena Horne.
Her father was from a Polish Jewish family. Her mother is African-American, with some English ancestry.
Jenny was married to actor Bobby Cannavale from 1994 to 2003. Their son is actor Jake Cannavale. Jenny is married to, but is currently separated from, Alexander Weinstein, and they have a daughter.
Jenny’s paternal grandparents were Baruch Lumet and Eugenia Gitl Wermus. Baruch and Eugenia were both Jewish immigrants, with Baruch having been born in Warsaw, now in Poland.
Jenny’s maternal grandparents were Louis Jordan Jones and Lena Horne (Lena Mary Calhoun Horne, the daughter of Edwin Fletcher Horne, Jr. and Edna Louise Scottron). Edna was the granddaughter of inventor Samuel R. Scottron (Samuel Raymond Scottron) and Anna Maria Willett.
