Jay Duplass is an American director and actor. His brother is filmmaker and actor Mark Duplass.

Jay’s maternal grandparents were John Anthony Ernst, Jr. (the son of John Anthony Ernst and Leontine Pauline Bordes) and Cathryn Mae Gallo. John was of German and Swiss-German descent. Leontine’s parents were French.
