Jeff Wadlow is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter.
Jeff is the son of Emily (Couric) and Raymond Clark Wadlow. He has a brother, Raymond. His mother was a Virginia Democratic State Senator, from Charlottesville, Virginia. Her sister, Jeff’s aunt, is television personality Katie Couric. The sisters were raised Presbyterian.
Jeff’s paternal grandfather was Raymond Claude Wadlow (the son of Roy Claude Wadlow and Ella Ida Thompson). Roy was the son of Samuel Perry Wadlow and Cynthia A. Wadlow.
Jeff’s paternal grandmother was Elise Katheron Clark (the daughter of Frank Isaac Clark and Alice Mary Pollock). Frank was the son of John Thornton Clark and Katheron S. Popplewell.
Jeff’s maternal grandfather was John Martin Couric (the son of John Martin Couric and Wildie Churchill Hibbler). Jeff’s grandfather John was of French, Scottish, English, and German ancestry. Jeff’s great-grandfather John was the son of Alfred Alexis Couric and Sarah “Sallie” Sophia/Sopia Shorter McKleroy. Wildie was the daughter of James Edmund Hibbler and Ida Hill Ivy.
Jeff’s maternal grandmother was Elinor Hene (the daughter of Berthold B. “Bert” Hene and Clara L./H. Frohsin). Berthold was born in Iowa, to German Jewish parents, Aaron Hene, from Bavaria, and Matilda Meyer. Clara was born in Alabama, the daughter of German Jewish parents, Isaac Frohsin, from Brakel, Hoxter, Nordrhein-Westfalen, and Emma Hagedorn, from Giershagen, Nordrhein-Westfalen.
Jeff’s matrilineal line can be traced back to his great-great-great-great-grandparents, Zachariah Rosenbaum, who was born, c. 1785, and to Zachariah’s wife, Betty, who was born, c. 1795, both of them in Würzberg, Hessen, Germany.
