Ezer Weizman was an Israeli politician and military officer. He served as the 7th President of Israel, from 13 May, 1993 to 13 July, 2000, and the Minister of Defense, from 20 June, 1977 to 28 May, 1980.

His father, Yechiel Weizmann, was a Belarusian Jewish agronomist, from Pinsk, whose older brother was the first President of Israel, Chaim Weizmann. His mother, Yehudit “Ida” (Krishevsky), was born in Rishon LeZion.

President Weizman was married to Reuma Schwarz, with whom he has two children.

President Weizman’s paternal grandfather was Ozier Fialkov (later Weizmann, the son of Chaim Azriel Fialkov and Gittel Rivka Chereminsky). Chaim was the son of Falk Fialkov and Malka. Gittel was the daughter of Feivel Chemerinsky and Rahel/Rehle Weingarten.

President Weizman’s paternal grandmother was Rachel Leah Chereminsky (the daughter of Yechiel Michel Chemerinsky and Fruma Chemerinsky). Yechiel was the son of Moshe Avigdor Chemerinsky and Hayah. Fruma was the daughter of Moshe Yitzhak Chemerinsky and Miriam.

President Weizman’s maternal grandfather was Gershon Itshak Isaac Krishevsky (the son of Chaim Yaakov Krishevsky and Rachel Lea Teplinsky). Chaim was the son of Mordechai Krishevsky and Leah Itah Amcislavsky. Rachel was the daughter of Gershon Teplinsky and Ita Tepper.

President Weizman’s maternal grandmother was Batya Hirshfeld (the daughter of Samuel Hirshfeld and Gruna Kastel). Samuel was the son of Avraham Hirshfeld. Gruna was the daughter of Tzvi Kastel.
