Rachel is the daughter of Iris Torres and Abraham “Abe” Ticotin. Her father is of Russian Jewish ancestry. Her mother is from Puerto Rico. Among Rachel’s siblings is musician Sahaj (born Daniel Ticotin).
Rachel is married to actor Peter Strauss. She has a daughter with her former husband, actor and producer David Caruso.
Rachel’s paternal grandparents were Isidor/Isador Ticotin and Sarah. Isidor and Sarah were from Russia.
