Her diary, kept during her time in hiding, was published by her father, who survived, as The Diary of a Young Girl in 1947. The Anne Frank House, in Prinsengracht, Amsterdam, preserves her memory.

He was born to a secular Jewish family. His father was a furrier in Hollywood. Jack is married to Laura Owens, a rabbi, with whom he has two children.
