Charles Krauthammer, MD is an American Pulitzer Prize-winning syndicated columnist, author, political commentator, and physician. His parents were both Jewish. His father, Shulim Krauthammer, was from France. His mother, Thea (Horowitz), was from Antwerp, Belgium.
Charles’s maternal grandparents were Meschulem Issachar Horowitz (the son of Michael Horowitz Ish HaLevi and Teofila Grusziewicz) and Mina Geldzahler (the daughter of Melech Geldzahler and Sissel). Meschulem was born in Přerov, Czech Republic, to a father from Krakow, Poland and a mother from Mielec, Poland. Mina was born in Antwerp, Belgium.
